2013-2014 

Mentoring Committee Chair, Postdoctoral Leadership Council, Brigham & Women’s Hospital (BWH), Boston, MA, USA

Created and implemented a Mentoring Circle Program for postdoctoral fellows at BWH, leading a team of 6 volunteers; provided training for mentors; organised kick-off event and invited speaker; monitored the circles’ progress throughout the academic year; organised end of year celebration event; and planned for succession and continuation of the programme. I obtained two awards in recognition of this effort: the 2014 Peer-Mentor Award and the 2014 Postdoctoral Research Fellow Leadership Award. The programme is still ongoing and includes ~50 participants. This experience was described in a publication from Nature Biotechnology, and the programme obtained an award, the Program Award for a Culture of Excellence in Mentoring 2016 from the Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
